Our pals over at Ubiktune have given us a heads-up on some more juicy gaming electronica. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, munch on this aural candy, why don’t cha?
First to the block is Maxo’sFAKEBIT 2010, a compilation of 8-bit jams that Maxo composed over the past few years. Since it’s not supposed to be a cohesive album, it covers a wide variety of themes and genres — some tunes remind me of the wacky music inAdventure Time. Also included is an arrangement of theAngry Video Game Nerdtheme as well as a mash-up ofDragon Ball‘s “Makafushigi Adventure!” andFist of the North Star‘s “Ai o Torimodose!!” Price of admission? One dollar.

Next in line is the official soundtrack to the iPad / Android gameOnslaught!, care of OC ReMix alum Joshua Morse. It transports us back to the 16-bit era with an extremely funky sound reminiscent of Super Nintendo games. Maybe it’s just because I’ve been playing a lot ofMega Man Xlately, but the sound samples here seem inspired by the Capcom classic. Price of admission? Whatever you wish.
Samples are after the jump, so grab some headphones and give ’em a whirl.
