There’s no question that the coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on the video game industry in 2020. Esports tournaments and annualgaming conventions like GDC were cancelled, and numerous games got delayed throughout the year. In the case ofPersona 5 Strikers,the English dubs for the game were recorded remotely for safety reasons.

During a recent Q&A session at thePersona 5 StrikersVirtual First Look Event, the game’s publisher Atlus confirmed that all of the English voiceover work was done from the actors’ homes. This has become somewhat the norm in the voiceover industry since the beginning of the pandemic, as TV, film, and game developers seek a way to safely continue production on their various projects.

Atlus also shared thatPersona 5 Strikerswill feature the same voice actors as the previousPersona 5games. These include Xander Mobus (Joker), Max Mittelman (Ryuji), Cassandra Lee Morris (Morgana), Erika Harlacher (Ann), Matthew Mercer (Yusuke), Cherami Leigh (Makoto), and Xanthe Huynh (Haru). The game will also introduce two new characters, Sophia and Zenkichi Hasegawa, though their voice actors have not yet been officially announced.

Persona 5 Strikerswill be a direct sequelto the originalPersona 5and notPersona 5 Royal, the enhanced version of the game that introduced a new Phantom Thief member, as well as a new Palace, music, and plot and social elements. The new game will follow Joker and the rest of the gang as they investigate some mysterious happenings across Japan.

Persona 5 Strikerswill release worldwide on July 02, 2025, for PC, PS4, and Switch.
