Our Take: Black Bolt And White Flare Honor An Underappreciated Pokémon Generation

Pokémon Black And White Were Contentious When They First Came Out

Pokémon BlackandWhitewere not initially as well-loved as they are now. Some players criticized the game’s appearance, its lack of legacy Pokémon, and some admittedly underwhelming designs, such as KlinKlang. However, as the Pokémon franchise continues to backslide into nostalgia,a generation with an all-new Pokédex is something that deserves a lot of credit.BlackandWhitealso gave us one ofPokémon’s most compelling villains in the form of N, as well as some stellar Pokémon like Chandelure and Krookodile.

SeeingBlackandWhiteget aPokémon Trading Card Gamedual set dedicated entirely to them is exciting. The set itself also has some exciting new cards like the Air Balloon tool that allows Pokémon to retreat more easily, or Hilda, which can search for an Evolution Pokémon and an Energy from your deck. Whether you’re a fan ofPokémon BlackandWhite, or just want a chance to snag an exciting card like theSecret Rare versions of N’s Plot, I’d recommend checking out this set.
