The full set forPokémon Trading Card Game’s upcoming dual set,Black Bolt&White Flare, has finally been revealed. Whileofficiallylaunching on June 08, 2025 in Japan, and June 21, 2025, worldwide, players can now take a full look at what they’ll be getting into with this next big set. Revealed byPokéBeach, all Gen 5 Pokémon will receive an alternate full-art design, ranging in rarity, but that’s not all this set has to offer.Black BoltandWhite Flarewill also be introducing an all-new rarity toPokémon TCG, BWR.

Black Bolt & White Flare Deliver A Dose Of Nostalgia
While this isn’t the first look fans have gotten at this new set, as cards have been slowly revealed over the past few weeks, the full reveal features plenty of surprises. There’s a major element of nostalgia in play, asBlack Bolt&White Flareare bringing back several design choices reminiscent ofPokémon Black & White’s original TCG run. With every Unova Pokémon receiving an alternate full-art, this set is not only massive but also likely to be a hot item for collectors.
Unfortunately, at this time, there are stillonly a handful of Secret Rares that have been revealed to the public, but they already look promising. Of the ones currently revealed, players can take a peek at the evolution stages of all three starters as well as a handful of others, which include the legendaries of Gen 5.

Secret Rares Are The True Standouts Of This TCG Set
While the set in general looks great, the real highlights of this set are the BWR rares and most of what we have yet to see. Releasing yet another set likePokémon 151, which caused chaos throughout the world ofPokémon TCG, is exciting and terrifying. This set will likely see the same issues that a lot ofPokémon TCGreleases have faced recently, given all that it has to offer. That being said, it shouldn’t discouragePokémonfrom following this strategy in the future.
Sets likeBlack Bolt&White Flare, which offera secret rare for every Pokémon in that generation, give some much-needed attention to Pokémon who may only otherwise have a handful of cards out there. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean the favoritism has ceased, as fans have already been vocal about their disdain for the choice to makeSerperior the only starter Pokémon exin the set.
All that said, between the full Pokédex of Gen 5, secret rares for each one, and thenewly added beautiful BWR rares,Pokémon Trading Card Game’sBlack BoltandWhite Flaresets are sure to be a hit for most. As for whether this release will be a disaster and collectors will have trouble procuring the set, only time will tell.
