With the game developer Niantic’sPokemon GOstill making bank by generatinga huge sum of revenue in 2017, it makes sense as to why other companies are attempting to emulate the popular augmented reality game’s success by tweaking its formula in different ways. Speaking of which, Universal Studios and Ludia have now revealed that itsPoGO-like ARGJurassic World Aliveis set for release at some point during the spring of this year.
As seen below in the teaser trailer forJurassic World Alive, fans are given the idea that the forthcoming title will be similar toPokemon GO, but instead of catching and collecting Pokemon, the objective is to track, accumulate, and battle with dinosaurs. According to the clip, theJurassic Park-branded ARG is coming to Android and iOS devices, with interested players able to pre-register atthe title’s official websitein order to receive an in-game incubator as a reward at launch.
According to a press release,Jurassic World Alivewill have players take on a role in the Dinosaur Protection Group and be tasked with saving dinosaurs from yet another extinction by tracking them, collecting DNA samples, and breeding new hybrid species. What’s more is that these new types of dinosaurs are capable of being fought against another player’s creations in PvP arena battles, which is amuch-requested feature yet to be implemented by NianticinPokemon GO.
All things considered, with the popularity of theJurassic Parkfranchise backingJurassic World Alive, it’s quite possible that the forthcoming ARG from Ludia will go on to be a smashing success with dinosaur lovers and fans of the property. That said, though, there’s also the possibility of the title’s gameplay not living up to expectations, as it could very well be a quick cash grab tie-in to be used as a promotional venture to make people more aware of the theatrical release ofJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which is set to debut in June of this year.
