When the legendary water-type Pokemon Kyogre first appeared inPokemon GO, it was during the winter months, and so many fans missed out on the opportunity to catch it. However, Kyogre has returned to the game as part of theWater Festival event, and so fans may be wondering the best Pokemon to use to defeat it.
Since Kyogre is a water-type Pokemon, players are best off using electric- and grass-type Pokemon against it. Other types are also viable against Kyogre, but even more important is thatPokemon GOplayers make sure that each Pokemon they select for their raid party has the best moves possible as well.

When players are putting together their raid parties to battle Kyogre, they should keep in mind that grass-type Pokemon can be devastated by one of its moves. There are some Kyogres that know Blizzard, and this attack has a tendency to wipe out grass-type Pokemon, so trainers may want to set up two raid parties for Kyogre - one for when Kyogre knows Blizzard, and one for when it knows Thunder.
While some may not want to put that much thought into their raid parties, going into raid battles with the best possible Pokemon to counter the legendary should greatly increase their odds of winning. And since there are nowshiny Kyogres appearing in raids, it should definitely be worth the effort.
