WithPokemon GO’sholiday event for 2017set to go live today, it won’t be a major surprise if many fans of the popular augmented reality title jump back into trainer mode in order to discover the third generation Water- and Ice-type creatures that Niantic will be adding to kick off the festivities. And speaking of fresh additions to the game, Niantic has also confirmed today that it will be bringing new PokeStops to the ARG extremely soon.

As seen in the tweet below from Niantic’s official Twitter account,Pokemon GOfans should expect to see the inclusion of new PokeStops at some point during “the next few days.” This is being done thanks to the assistance of those who play the developer’s other ARG,Ingress, who have helped the company discover “interesting new locations to play our games” with the use of the title’s"Open Portal Submission"windows.

While there’s no doubt that plenty ofPokemon GOplayers will be excited to learn that fresh PokeStops are coming soon, there are still manyPoGOfans who would appreciate Niantic letting them submit suggestions for locations through the game instead of having to playIngressto do so. For those who would like the chance to suggest a PokeStop to Niantic and have it considered, there is a possibility of it being in the works forPoGO. Not too long ago,a job listing showed up on the developer’s official websitefor a full stack web engineer, which points toward the possibility of such a feature being on the way.

Should all of the aforementioned official features coming toPokemon GOnot be enough for lapsed trainers to pick up the game once more, Niantic has also taken the initiative to offerhuge rewards to inactive playersby giving them a brief three day window to redeem a promo code. All things considered, it will be interesting to see ifPokemon GO’s user base receives a large uptick during the holidays.

Pokemon GOis available now for Android and iOS devices.
