Pokemon GOtrainers may still be working through thelong list of January 2022 eventsin the mobile AR game, but some players already have their eyes set on the massive Tour: Johto activities happening next month. The global event takes place on February 26 and Niantic has been slowly releasing additional details about what to expect when the big day arrives.
The latest update from thePokemon GOdevelopers confirms that, likeprevious GO: Tour events, the Johto event will feature rotating Habitats. For those who haven’t experienced habitats during a global event before, it’s not too complicated. Certain Pokemon will only spawn during their associated habitat times (and then once more towards the end of the day during the final bonus window.

At this point, Niantic is not confirming which Pokemon will be featured during each Habitat window, but some players may be able to take some educated guesses based on the Habitat names if they are particularlyknowledgeable about the Johto region and its inhabitants. Usually the featured habitat Pokemon related to the event’s Special Research tasks, so keep an eye out for those challenges in the coming weeks. Hopefully they will include some exciting encounter rewards, as well…

It will be very exciting to see whatPoGOhas planned for this year’s installment of the annual GO Fest and how much if that event will be global versus region-specific.
