While Keighley’s tweet may seem standard-affair in isolation, Lake’s addition of a pair of eyeball emojis to the retweet has led to a flurry of speculation among fans, who believe that the cryptic tease suggests that Remedy may have significant reveals planned for the event. Earlier in the year, it was rumored thatnews surroundingAlan Wake 2’s DLCmay break soon, and Summer Game Fest on June 7 could be where that happens.
Some Believe a Max Payne 1+2 Remake Announcement is Coming
However, fans are abuzz with possibilities, theorizing that the highly anticipatedMax Payne 1+2remakecould also see an official reveal at the event. However,recent updates from Remedy on its future projectsconfirmed that the remake will enter full production in Q2 2024, which began just a month ago. Therefore, it’s unlikely that the studio will have any substantial footage of the remake to show. A CGI trailer is also doubtful, as the project has been public knowledge for nearly two years and doesn’t need to be announced again. Therefore,Alan Wake 2DLC is most likely what Lake is referring to.
Last year,Alan Wake 2was confirmed to receive two paid story expansions:Night SpringsandLake House. At the time, details and release dates for these expansions weren’t disclosed, but with Summer Game Fest marking nearly eight months since the release ofAlan Wake 2, it could be the perfect platform for Remedy to formally unveil these DLCs. Additionally, some speculate that the studio could announce physical copies ofAlan Wake 2at the event, which bundle the expansions together with the base game as a “Game of The Year” edition.Alan Wake 2was released in a digital-only format, which was a disappointment to those who prefer physical media. The potential reveal of the DLCs and disc prints for the game could be an excellent way to spark a resurgence in sales.
