Every TV show needs a mystery to last a season, and slowly answers need to be given.High Potentialimmediately introduced the Roman mystery in the series premiere, and it’s nowhere near being solved just yet.
There are a few details about Roman’s past, with Morgan connecting to someone who knew him around the time he went missing. However, this doesn’t mean that the mystery will be solved inHigh Potentialseason 2, and the show has even made it clear that this isn’t going to be an easy mystery to solve.

That being said, there are hints that we’ll get a few more pieces of the puzzle thanks to the latest addition to thecast ofHigh Potentialseason 2.Mekhi Phifer has joined the series in a mystery role, and we think we know who he will play.
Mekhi Phifer Plays Roman In High Potential Season 2 Theory Explained
High Potential Season 2 Hasn’t Named The Character
When Phifer was announced as joining the cast inHigh Potentialseason 2, the name of the character was left undisclosed. This creates a sense of mystery around the character, encouraging us to discuss and speculate, and the easiest and most likely speculation is thatMekhi Phifer will playHigh Potential’s Roman.
We already know thatSteve Howey is also joiningHigh Potentialseason 2, but his character was immediately named. If the series wanted us to know who Phifer was playing, the character name and description would have been released. By not naming his character, it’s clear that he has a rather large and mysterious role to play.

The last time a TV series did this wasFoundseason 2, when Danielle Savre joined the series. Her character details were left a mystery, and we immediately speculated that she was the sister of Sir. While she originally came in as someone else, it didn’t take long for the mystery to unfold and for us to be right.
Phifer Is Only Set To Be A Recurring Character In High Potential Season 2
Karadec Knows Where Roman Is, Doesn’t He?
At theend ofHigh Potentialseason 1, Karadec stated that he knew where Roman was. He managed to get information from the source who had been speaking with Morgan. This would initially suggest that solving the Roman mystery is going to be easy.
However, Phifer is only in a recurring role, which means he will be in and out of the season. There will be plenty ofthrilling cases to solve inHigh Potentialseason 2, and we also have the mystery of who Dave Giuntoni’s character is from theHigh Potentialseason 1 finale.

With so much going on, it’s easy to stretch out a mystery, and just because Karadec knows where Roman is, it doesn’t mean that he will be easy to find. Karadec may have a location where he’s being held, and then it takes time to get to him to help him.
Anothertheory about Roman inHigh Potentialis that he’s working deep with whoever took him 15 years ago, so he’s going by another alias in the real world that makes it a little harder to solve this mystery. If he knows that Morgan is looking for him and getting close, he may go deeper undercover, as he likely disappeared to protect her and Ava.

Having Phifer as a recurring character also means thatwe can learn where Roman is and get some backstory before Karadec and Morgan do.We’re pulled further in with answers, without the mystery dragging too much, but it still takes time to fully solve.
What We Know About Roman’s Future In High Potential Based On HPI
The French Version Already Solved The Roman Mystery
High Potentialis based on the French seriesHPI, and it had its own Roman mystery. In the French series, Morgane’s ex is called Romain, and he is believed dead at first. It turns out that he was lured into a scam by a man named Serge, which involved borrowing money from the Belgians.
The two head to a casino to double the money, but then there is the pressure of paying the Belgians back. Convinced that the Belgians will kill him, Romain and Serge formulate a plan to stage Romain’s death by paying off a forensic doctor, and Serge even convinces Romaine that the Belgians will follow Morgane, so Romaine doesn’t contact her.
Romain ends up moving to England, where he creates a new life with a wife and child. He also didn’t like how complicated things were with Morgane, and he finds his new life simple, leading to him not coming back.
It’s a painful experience for Morgane, and it’s something we hope doesn’t play out inHigh Potentialseason 2, as that’s also going to hurt Ava. There is a good base for the Roman mystery, though, setting up Roman having to disappear for Morgan and Ava’s safety.
The storyline for Roman has already changed slightly between the two versions, as in the French version, Romain left before his daughter was born. In the U.S. version, he spent time with Ava and would have formed a bond with her, making it less likely that he’ll just abandon her without good reason inHigh Potential.
