System76 sells some of thebest Linux laptopsaround, and also offers some desktop machines built from the ground up for a great Linux experience. The company’s hardware can be expensive, especially if you configure them with higher-end parts, but a limited-time sale is changing that.
System76 is currently holding a series of discounts on its online store, letting you save money on your next Linux PC. The company’s Gear Up sale is meant to bring savings during back to school season and put its excellent computers in the hands of more users. Laptops and desktops are all discounted, and more importantly, they’ll last a while, so you have some time to think about them.
As far as laptops go, you may get up to $150 off a new laptop from System76’s vast range. Not all laptops are getting the full $150 — theGazelle, for one, is just getting $50 off, and so are the Galago Pro, Lemur Pro, and Darter Pro. But if you’re aiming to splurge for the Bonobo WS, the best laptop System76 has in its lineup, you’ll be getting $150 off its final price. The Pangolin, the Adder WS, the Oryx Pro, and the Serval WS all stay in the middle of the road, with a $100 discount.
Desktop PCs are also discounted. The Thelio and the Thelio Mira are both $70 off right now, while the Thelio Major and the Thelio Mega are both getting $100 off their MSRP. Regardless of what size, and capabilities, you need, you’ll still save a bit of money.
Finally, theMeerkat, System76’s tiny PC offering, is also $70 off from its usual $600 price point, and you may now grab it for just $529. Of course, like with the desktops, how good of a deal this is will depend on how exactly you configure this when buying it.
These aren’thugesavings, especially when they’re applied to the most expensive models — saving $100 off a $4,000+ PC isn’t exactly making it much cheaper. Still, the $100 you just saved if you had the money anyway can be used to buy other things you’ll need to get things set up, such as peripherals. The deals will run until October 3on System76’s online store.
