It looks like Sheriff Mike will meet a tragic fate inResident Alienseason 4 after a huge villain twist that dramatically changes his story. Mike’sResident Alienseason 4storysaw him finally accept the truth about alien activity in Patience. After he killed a Grey at theend ofResident Alienseason 3, he’s been investigating the Mantid.
His search for the killer alien reached a breaking point inResident Alienseason 4, episode 7, whenhe discovered FBI Agent Jules Gardner had been replaced by the Mantid. She’s also getting closer to Mike’s girlfriend, Lena, who doesn’t believe his stories about aliens. This could spell Mike’s doom if he can’t convince her of the danger she’s in.
Mike Might Sacrifice Himself To Save Lena From The Mantid
Desperate Times May Call For The Most Desperate Of Measures
When Mike confronted the Mantid,it said that it didn’t want to kill him, as a dead Sheriff would draw too much attention to it. For now, this leaves him with the ability to try and stop it, made easier because he knows who it is. Liv is also aware, making them the only two who know for now.
However,Jules has been getting closer to Lena over the last few episodes. Not only are they clearly very good friends, but she now doesn’t fully trustMike’s belief in aliens. He even accused Jules of being the Mantid in front of her before he knew for sure, putting a new rift in their relationship.
If Lena ends up endangered because of the Mantid,Mike could sacrifice himself to save her life. The Mantid killing Mike wouldn’t be good for its current plans, but if it targets his girlfriend, then he might step into the danger, putting his life on the line. This decision seems like it could happen if it tries to kill her.
Why Mike Dying In Resident Alien Makes Too Much Sense
It Would Bring His Story To A Fitting Conclusion
Mike’s death would be a sad event forResident Alienseason 4’s upcoming episodes. However, it would also bring his story full circle. When he was a cop in Washington D.C.,he failed to save his partner and best friend, Jesse,when the pair responded to a deadly call together. It’s guilt that Liv helped him conquer during season 2.
But, if he saved Lena from the Mantid by sacrificing himself,it would bring that moment back around with renewed purpose. He could symbolically end his story inResident Alienwhere it started, this time saving someone he loved from a threat he can gain control over.
