What This Means For Sinners

Sinners' Box Office Continued To Stay Strong

Even though it became available for digital purchase in June and is now on streaming,Sinners' box office numbershave continued to be strong and have helpedfurther cement it as a beloved horror movie. The ability to watch Coogler’s thought-provoking vampire story at home did not get in the way of audiences continuing to watch it in theaters. Many movies, especially in the horror genre, rarely perform well both critically and commercially.

Sinnersis a unique case where it has performed remarkably well in both areas, and interest has not waned nearly three months after the theatrical debut. TheMichael B. Jordan movieisa testament to the power of original filmmakingand that audiences will still go to the theaters for stories that are not connected to a popular franchise or well-known IP. When a movie is as cinematic and unique asSinners, audiences will continue to watch it on the big screen months later.

Our Take On Sinners' Final Box Office Milestone

It Is A Good Sign For The Future

WithSinnerseasily being one of my favorite movies so far of 2025, I amthrilled to see how it has resonated with critics and general audiences. Bold movies like this often struggle to find mainstream success, especially at the box office, but that has not been the case this time.

Sinnershas derailed the narrative that only franchise and IP-driven movies can succeed now in theaters. Ihope that more studios will be willing to take a chance on original storytellingbuilt on a strong creative vision, withSinnersshowing that, in the right hands, it can be incredibly profitable and popular.
