Glass Bottom Games’ unique skateboarding titleSkateBirdwill be getting a physical release for the Nintendo Switch. The 2021indie gameis already available digitally on the platform, as well as PC and Xbox One, but now fans will be able to get their hands on a collectible edition with some fun cover art.As its name implies,SkateBirdis a skateboarding gamewhere players control a small pet bird that performs a variety of tricks in avian-sized skateparks set up around the house. Though there is not yet a set release date, pre-orders will open on November 15, and there will be two covers available for purchase, one exclusively through Amazon.
SkateBirdfeels a lot like theTony Hawk’s Pro Skaterseries of skateboarding games, except with a small, feathery character instead of a human, and players can perform a range of tricks like grinds, kickflips, and ollies. But the game is about more than just skating, and the different levels inSkatebirdhave some fun collectiblesto find. As the game progresses, other birds will come to check out the player’s skatepark and help scope out new places to skate.
To coincide with the Limited Run physical release of the game,the company will also be producing a human-sizedSkatebirdskateboard deck, which has unfortunately already sold out before its launch. Limited Run sells more than just physical versions of digital games. Aficionados can find soundtracks, special steelbook and collector editions of games, mini consoles like the Sega Astro City Mini, and various types of exclusive merch.
