It’s so fun and, as an actor, the most challenging fun that you could possibly hope for. We didn’t think that we could outdo season 2, but season 4, which we’re almost finished filming, wait until you see where we go genre-wise for season 4. We don’t think of them! It’s Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, and all our wonderful writers who just keep coming up with these totally outside-the-box opportunities for us to really keep switching it up.

It’s really fun to jump from horror straight into a musical, straight into pure comedy. The hits keep on coming, and it’s really fun.
What This Means For Strange New Worlds Season 4
It Should Be Ready For Star Trek’s 60th Anniversary
As there was an extended break between seasons 2 and 3, the filming update is exciting for the future of the show. Although not confirmed, this likely means thatStar Trek: Strange New Worldsseason 4 will stream duringStar Trek’s 60th anniversary in 2026.
The series itself is more episodic in nature than many of the other modernStar Trekshows, so having it be ready for the 60th anniversary feels fitting. It has also been confirmed that Paul Wesley will reprise his role as Lieutenant James T. Kirk in season 4, which is appropriate for the upcoming anniversary.
Our Take On The Season 4 Update
The Show Will Experiment With Different Types Of Episodes
While it remains to be seen what other genresStrange New Worldsseason 3 will dive into, season 2 did have some genre-bending standouts. Season 2 featuredStar Trek’s first musical episode, and also crossed over with the animated seriesStar Trek: Lower Decks. These were both big swings for the series to take, and they became two of the more memorable episodes that season.
Before season 3 aired, it was announced thatStrange New Worlds will be ending with season 5. With an endpoint already predetermined, it may allow the show to take more chances with episodes as it doesn’t have the threat of cancellation looming over its head.
It would seem to be a Herculean task to have episodes that go bigger in terms of genre, butStrange New Worldsmay be able to pull it off. The show has not been afraid to take risks, and those have ultimately paid off. AsStar Trek: Strange New Worldsseason 4 should hopefully be streaming in 2026, viewers shouldn’t have to wait long to see what new kinds of episodes it will deliver.
