AlthoughStar Wars’newest map is impressive,Ahsokaseason 2 may very well push the boundaries even further. Since 1977, theStar Warsgalaxy has continued to expand with new worlds and locations to be explored. However, we recently ventured beyond the known galaxy, and I think we’ll continue to do so in the future.
InAhsoka’sfirst season, the series only spent half its time in the known galaxy. The other half took place extragalactically on a distant world where bothGrand Admiral Thrawn and Jedi Knight Ezra Bridger had been exiledfor nearly a decade.Keeping that in mind as we head intoAhsokaseason 2, I think we’re going to need a biggerStar Warsmapsoon.

Star Wars' New Galaxy Map Is Awesome
A Full Look At The Galaxy Far, Far Away
Lucasfilm recently restored its old cartography page onStarWars.comwith a brand-new galaxy map.Updated to feature some of the newest planets and worlds seen in shows likeThe Mandalorianand even last year’sSkeleton Crew, it’s a lot of fun to discover where exactly your favorite planets are located in relation to everything else. Major hyperspace lanes are also featured, as well as unique regions like “Hutt Space” and the Corporate Sector.
Featuring hundreds of planets that have been introduced over the last 48 years, the entire map is gridded out with letters and numbers. This makes it easier to locate certain worlds using an attached map of all the planets that exist in the knownStar Warsgalaxy. However, one keyStar Warsplanet is understandably missing from this brand-new map of the galaxy far, far away.

One Key Planet Is Still Missing: Peridea
From 2023’sAhsokaSeries
Having been introduced in 2023’sAhsoka, the planet Peridea is nowhere to be found on Lucasfilm’s newStar Warsmap. This makes sense, asAhsokaseason 1 confirmed that it’s located in an entirely new galaxy. Therefore, it wouldn’t be featured on the typicalStar Warsmap, updated or otherwise, and should instead be featured as part of an entirely new galaxy apart from the one we’re familiar with.
The ancient world Thrawn and Ezra were taken to by a pod of intergalactic purrgil during the Battle of Lothal,Peridea is the original homeworld of the Dathomiri Nightsisters. By the end ofAhsokaseason 1, Thrawn’s forces make it back to the known galaxy. Ezra Bridger makes it back as well, having secretly stowed away aboardThe Chimaera, Thrawn’s Star Destroyer.

Meanwhile, Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren are now the ones stranded on Peridea, along with Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati. The finale also revealed the planet’s apparent connection to theMortis gods. In the first season, Baylan was called by a mysterious source of power, which led him to the massive Mortis gods statues, soAhsokaseason 2 will hopefully reveal what it all means.
We May Need A New Map After Ahsoka Season 2
Will We See More Of This “Other” Galaxy?
It’s certainly possible that Peridea is just the beginning. After all, it’s highly doubtful that it’s the only livable planet in this brand-newStar Warsgalaxy. We already know thatAhsoka season 2will see part of its story continuing in the main galaxy, especially now thatGrand Admiral Thrawn has returned as a major threat to the New Republic.
However, we also know that the other half will continue Ahsoka, Sabine, Baylan, and Shin’s story on Peridea, though perhaps beyond as well. Personally, I’d love it ifAhsokaseason 2 expanded to more worlds and planets, taking advantage of the exciting opportunity that is a brand-new galaxy to be explored. It’d be awesome to eventually need to justify the creation of asecondStar Warsgalaxy map.
Ahsokaseason 2 is set to release in 2026 on Disney+
