Pinball arcade games have long been popular, butpinball video gamesdefinitely have an audience as well. Mix that with the massively giant property ofStar Wars, and that can definitely entice even more players to the genre. NowStar Wars Pinballwill be able to reach even more players when a virtual reality version gets released later this year.
Zen Studios' originalStar Wars Pinballlaunched in 2013, with pinball tables inspired by different films and shows across the franchise. Over the years, the game has been ported to different consoles and mobile devices, adding new content with each new entry in theStar Warsuniverse.Star Wars Pinball VRis developed by Zen Studios again, as well asthe revived Lucasfilm Games, which will be involved with mostStar Warsgames going forward.

The announcement trailer showed off key gameplay elements, from different pinball tables to fully immersive minigames. At launch, the pinball tables will include ones based onA New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Rogue One, Star Wars Rebels, andStar Wars: Masters of the Force. A Classic Collectibles table lets players earn differentStar Warsaction figures by completing certain missions.The Mandaloriangets its own pinball table as well, marking the second time the TV show has been incorporated in video games, afterthe Mandalorian was added toFortnite.
The most impressive part of the reveal is the Fan Cave, the VR hub that players can customize. By playing through each table, players will be able to get different helmets, blasters, lightsabers, plus other items that they can use to make their Fan Cave their own.
Star Warshas openly embraced the thrill of virtual reality, releasing VR-only titles likeVader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series, and games that have VR-support, likeStar Wars: Squadrons. With this new announcement, it doesn’t look like the trend is stopping anytime soon. Fans of VR and fans ofStar Warswill have plenty of options going forward, and the developers have already stated they plan to bring even more content toStar Wars Pinball VR.
Star Wars Pinball VRwill release on April 29 for Oculus Quest, PlayStation VR, and Steam VR.
