Marvelous Inc’sStory of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town,the fourth title in the series, is set to release for the Nintendo Switch in March of next year.Publisher XSEED Gameshas released a few details about the retail editions of the farming and life simulation game.
In addition to the standard version, which will retail for $49.99, a limited premium edition forStory of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Townwill also be made available for $59.99. The premium bundle will contain the Switch game cartridge, a 2.5 x 4 inch plushie of Buffy the buffalo, as well as a 13.5 x 24 inch cloth poster of the game’s full box art. A digital version of the game will also be released on the Switch eShop, and information about that edition will be released at a later date.

TheStory of Seasonsseries will be familiar to many, as from 1996 to 2014 the franchise wasknown in North America asHarvest Moon. Although rebranded, the gameplay ofStory of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Townremains faithful to that established in previous titles, while also offering up a few new twists to classic mechanics.
Players will build and cultivate a farm while making friends with the townspeople by fulfilling various requests. Farmland will need to be cleared for planting, tools repaired and upgraded, and livestock maintained and cared for. Players will be able to craft new outfits and accessories for their farmer, as well as personalize their facilities with a variety of decorations. As the town grows, over 200 unique events and festivals will pave the way for a bit of celebration and some classicStory of Seasonsromance.
