With just a little more than a couple of weeks left beforeBethesdaand Tango Gameworks release the survival-horror titleThe Evil Within 2to the world, the publisher and developer are starting to unravel even more of the game’s contents by introducing players to the plethora of foes that will be faced. Now, the companies have put out a brand new trailer that highlights the mysterious priest known as Father Theodore.
As seen below in the latest trailer forThe Evil Within 2, Father Theodore is labeled as a wrathful and righteous priest, and it turns out he has his own motivations for entering the STEM world, as he’s seeking to find the protagonist Sebastian Castellanos' daughter, Lily, who is lost somewhere in the realm. However, considering the fact that Father Theodore describes himself as a “god,” and that he has the assistance flamethrower-wielding Harbingers – that is, those whose minds he’s bent to his will – his reasons for finding Lily are much more nefarious than Sebastian’s, as the priest intends on using her powers to mold the STEM world to fit his apocalyptic vision.
Of course, Father Theodore is far from the only enemy that Sebastian will encounter on his quest to save his daughter inThe Evil Within 2, as Bethesda and Tango Gameworks released a story trailer about a month ago detailing a death obsessedphotographer antagonist named Stefano Valentini. Not to mention, the survival-horror game will also have a slew of nightmarish monsters and creatures that Sebastian will have to deal with along the way.
While it’s inarguable thatThe Evil Within 2’s character and story clips are of an incredibly high quality, as the wicked nature of Father Theodore is practically palpable after having watched his trailer, there may be some out there who simply want to get a glimpse of the game in action. Thankfully, Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have already releasedover 20 minutes of gameplay on PCthat features Sebastian in a showdown with the Giggling Guardian, and a confrontation with a strange camera monster.
The Evil Within 2is set to release on August 08, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
