Not too long ago, Telltale Games gave fans a sneak peek of what’s to come withThe Walking Dead: The Final Seasonby showing offthe first 15 minutes of gameplay, wherein Clementine adopts a leadership role as she takes care of the orphaned AJ. As it so happens, the studio has been teasing the conclusion of Clementine’s tale with the upcoming content, but just because players of the episodic series expect closure, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be the end of the story completely.
This much was revealed by Telltale Games' Creative Director Kent Mudle, who was discussing whether or not the five-episode arc inThe Walking Dead: The Final Seasonwould truly be able to tie up all of its loose ends and wrap everything up. Apparently, this won’t be the case, as the Telltale director said, “This season is the end of Clementine’s journey, and that’s as much as I’ll say on that.”
With Mudle having teased thatThe Walking Dead: The Final Seasonis just the end for Clementine, it could mean almost anything in regards to what other projects Telltale Games has planned to keep the interactive adventure title steadily moving along. Maybe the company will decide to bring backthe fan-favorite Michonne, or perhaps it will even follow upThe Final Seasonwith a fresh story arc dedicated to a brand new character.
All things considered, while little else is known about what’s to come inThe Walking Dead: The Final Seasonother than it being Clementine’s last turn as the series star, it’s safe to say that fans are practically champing at the bit to learn her fate. With plenty of players having followed the plot from the very first season – which debuted all the way back in 2012 – there’s no doubt they’re hoping Clem receives a stellar finale.
