Is The White Lotus Season 2 Really The Best One?

The Numbers Are Right About The White Lotus

As I said, judging TV seasons is always going to be subjective, but I’m of the opinion that the reviews have it right. The White Lotusseason 2 is the most vibrant and entertaining of the three, taking season 1’s concept and improving on it with a stronger, interconnected narrative and arguably higher stakes.

The White Lotusseason 2’s cast brought the show its most widespread cultural appeal yet, withstars like Aubrey Plaza, Meghann Fahy, and Theo James standing out for playing unforgettable characters. Not to mention, Jennifer Coolidge brought her A-game in season 1, and somehow managed to take it up a notch her second time around.

Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya will always be the poster girl forThe White Lotus, no matter how long the series carries on without her. Her final scenes in season 2 are some of the funniest television in recent years, and it’s all due to the slow-burning build-up and authentic character development throughout.

Every season ofThe White Lotushas been a masterclass of screenwriting, butseason 2 is an excellent example of intelligent writing crossing with entertainment. WithThe White Lotusseason 4 in production, this is the gold standard Mike White should be looking toward.
