Transformers: War for Cybertron: Earthriseis both a very clunky title and also the second installment of theTransformers: War for Cybertronanimated show on streaming giant Netflix. Though it shares the same name, it is unfortunately not related to the very well-receivedTransformers:War for Cybertronvideo games that released some time back. Instead,Transformers:War for Cybertron: Earthriseis a CGI animated show made in collaboration with Netflix, Hasbro, and Rooster Teeth. With three installments planned, the second season,Earthrise, is coming to Netflix fairly soon, and a brand new trailerhas been released to YouTube to help promote it.
The newWar for Cybertron: Earthrisetrailer has just about everythingone might expect fromTransformers. There are Autobots and Decepticons, all the familiar faces are there, they’re fighting each other on Cybertron, etc. More interesting are the early scenes in theTransformers: War for Cybertron: Earthrisetrailer where a large portion of the Autobots have been captured and are being led to a sinister figure with some interest in them. Also of note is Megatron forming an uneasy alliance with yet another villain who almost certainly has ulterior motives. The trailer has just the right ratio of melodramatic narration to robots getting ready for a fight, and seems to be an interesting follow up to the well received first season.

Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege, despite some controversy over not having longtime voice actors return for iconic characters, still reviewed well overall. ThatTransformersTV show was praised as being visually impressive and surprisingly deep, making it a high note for a franchise that has had quitea few ups and downsover the many years its been around. Hopefully this next installment in the long-runningTransformersmedia franchise will continue to build on the very solid performance of the first, and will continue to offer fans everything they want out of their favorite robot cars.
