It’s the beginning of a new month, which means gamers everywhere have a ton of free games to look forward to on their platform of choice. PlayStation and Xbox have bothshown their hands for October, and now it’s Twitch’s turn, as they’ve finally released the list of free games Twitch Prime members can snag this month.
Heading off the list isDarksiders: Warmastered Editionfrom THQ Nordic. It has a lot in common with traditionalLegend of Zeldagames, so fans of that franchise should feel right at home.Darksiders 3is also on the horizon, so this is a great opportunity to jump into the series for new fans.
Next up isSanitarium,a classic point-and-click adventure game full of horror. Players take on the role of an amnesiac trying to figure out who they are and how to escape. Gamers may have to get past the dated graphics, but it’s a great addition to the lineup and certainly fits October’s spooky theme.
Rounding out the list isSystem Shock: Enhanced Edition.TheSystem Shockgames are some of the most critically acclaimed PC games ever, and definitely worth revisiting or playing through for the first time. TheEnhanced Editionbrings a bunch of technical and gameplay improvements over the original, like 4K support and rebindable keys, so fans should have an easier time readjusting to the older gameplay systems.
Overall, this is a great offering of games. The four titles should provide hours of enjoyment for pretty much anybody, and the spooky themes should sit well with horror fans during their sacred month of Spooktober. After thesomewhat-disappointing PlayStation Plus lineup, at least when compared to what was rumored, these Prime games will help make October’s free game library much more impressive.
