That September excitement looks to be continuing into October. Earlier this month,Xbox Live Goldmembers receivedCastlevania: Harmony of Despair, andAerowith October 15th being the last day to claimCastlevania, and October 31st being the last day to claimAero. Today, a new set of free games for Xbox Live Gold members are available to download for a limited time only.
Starting today, Xbox Live Gold members can downloadResident Evil Code: Veronica XandHover, with October 31st being the last day to download Resident Evil and November 15th being the last for Hover. Both titles are also available to download for users that are Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. Hover is a parkour multiplayer open world where users can perform a variety of different tricks and tackle different challenges to upgrade their gear. Meanwhile, for horror fanatics,Resident Evil Code: Veronica Xhas become available at the perfect time following Claire after the events that occur inResident Evil 2.

With the inclusion ofResident Evil Code: Veronica X, now available to download, and withCastlevania: Harmony of Despairhaving dropped earlier this month, October has been a very strong month for Xbox Live Gold members, and although not including any next-gen titles,Xbox Live Gold is starting to rival PlayStation Plus.
It’s still a bit too early to tell whether or not this streak will continue unto the next coming months, but with September’s free Xbox games, and now October, things are starting to look up for the service. With the recent Xbox Live Gold titles being as old as they are, however, it shows that not many are concerned with next-gen or recent titles being included in the service as long as the games available are popular and exciting.
