IconicStar Warsactors Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor, who played Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, respectively, have just pitched newStar Warsshows, and we sincerely hope they happen. Although the future ofStar Warsseems bright, especially with upcoming movies likeThe Mandalorian and GroguandStar Wars: Starfighter, shows remain sparse.
Ahsokaseason 2is the only confirmed live-action project amongStar Wars’upcoming TV shows. This is a major deviation from the emphasis onStar Warsshows in recent years, leading many to believe announcements of new shows must be coming. Now,Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen have shared someStar WarsTV show ideas that would be absolutely brilliant.
Hayden Christensen Wants A Darth Vader TV Show
At Fan Expo Boston 2025, which just concluded this weekend, Hayden Christensen was asked whether he was open to returning toStar Wars(the answer to which seems to always be yes). That certainly held true in Christensen’s response, but what was particularly interesting was the framing of this question around a potential Darth Vader show.
Specifically, when asked about aStar Warsreturn afterAhsokaseason 2, for which Christensen is already confirmed, he said:
“One hundred percent… I would love to, yes. If the powers that be decide that’s something that they want to see, I would be there in a heartbeat.”
This isn’t the first time Christensen has expressed interest in a Vader show. He previously shared that he believes there are many Darth Vader stories left to tell. While some believeStar Warsmovies and TV showsneed to move in a different direction, there are just as many, if not more, who would love to see a Vader show.
What exactly this could look like remains to be seen, but the canonStar Warscomics alone have suggested what a Vader show’s story could entail, from attempts to resurrect Padmé to his experiences of conflict when attempting to bleed his kyber crystal, and countless others.Star Warshas yet to confirm any such project, but it’s a thrilling prospect.
Ewan McGregor Wants To Wear Clone Trooper Armor
Over the weekend, there was plenty of speculation that Ewan McGregor may have accidentally confirmed his appearance inAhsokaseason 2, but that ultimately proved to be incorrect based on afact check of McGregor’s real comments. Given this was dispelled, we still do not have any confirmation that McGregor will return toStar Warsagain in the future.
However, McGregor is clearly very interested in a return and,during Fan Expo Boston 2025, McGregor reiterated once again that he would love to return alongside Christensen and don the Clone Wars armor for the first time. These are comments that he has made several times at this point, leading some to believe this is quietly already in the works.
That remains entirely speculative at present, but it would be an incredible announcement, shouldStar Warsactually decide to have either a full-fledged live-action Clone Wars series or possiblyObi-Wan Kenobiseason 2, with brand-new flashbacks. McGregor didn’t clarify exactly which form he would want this to take.
Yet, it’s clear that he would like a newStar Warsshow to include a storyline that sees him and Christensen in the Clone Wars era. We’ve already seen how brilliantly this can be done with Christensen’s return inAhsokaseason 1, in which he had the Clone Wars armor on for the very first time.
Therefore, we now have twoStar Warsshow ideas on the table: A Vader TV show and a project that brings Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen into the Clone Wars era. Hopefully,Star Warswill give us at least one.
