What Netflix’s Principal Dort Teaser Clip Means For Wednesday Season 2
Steve Buscemi’s Wednesday Season 2 Character Will Inspire Further Conflicts
It was previously revealed thatBuscemi’sWednesdayseason 2 characterwould be Principal Weems' successor, but the general nature of his character was uncertain. Now, the new teaser clip dives a little deeper into who Principal Dort is and what his station at Nevermore Academy will mean for the students. It’s evident that Dort doesn’t share Weems' desire to live harmoniously with the Normies. In fact, Buscemi’s character even believes that his predecessor’s hope that Outcasts would be accepted by Normies was a dangerous weakness.
Wednesday’s season 1principal had gone to great lengths to show the people of Jericho that Outcasts were respectable members of the community. Dort, on the other hand, appears to take the angle that Nevermore’s talented and powerful student base is superior to Normies. This opposite extreme sets up Buscemi’sWednesdayseason 2 character as an antagonistwho may intentionally exacerbate the destructive conflict between Outcasts and Normies in the upcoming episodes. Moreover, Dort’s influence could cause division among Nevermore’s students, as some are more sympathetic toward Normies, while others want to assert dominance.

Our Take On The Wednesday Season 2 Clip
Dort’s Prejudice Is The Perfect Next Step After Weems' Tolerance
Dort’s claim in theWednesdayseason 2 clip that Weems was the reason for the attack on Nevermore in season 1 is, of course, false. The issues between Outcasts and Normies were established centuries prior in Jericho, and Weems did what she believed would help to bring some peace. She was a complicated character, but by the time Weems died in theWednesdayseason 1 finale, she had begun to grow on us. We even hoped that she might still return for season 2, butthis new teaser clip hints that theAddamsFamilyspinoff is headed in the opposite direction.
It ultimately makes some sense that Nevermore’s new principal would take an opposite stance from Weems regarding Normies.Wednesdayhas largely been about the division between Normies and Outcasts, so Dort standing on the other side of the spectrum should help carry this forward. Whether this character can be redeemed as Weems was or stand as a definitive villain, however, is still uncertain.
