Wonder Boy: Asha in MonsterWorldhas announced release dates for the PS4 and Switch versions, as well as the Steam version coming at a later date.
TheWonder Boyseries started as arcade games in 1986, also known asRevenge of Dranconin the United States at the time. After a successful run as arcade cabinets in the 80s and ports to modern consoles such as theNintendo Wii, theWonder Boygames started a series of remakes in 2016 withWonder Boy Returns, a remake of the originalWonder Boy. Likewise,Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trapwas a remake ofWonder Boy 3: The Dragon’s Trap, and now,Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster Worldis a remake of the 1994 titleMonster World 4.

Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster Worldwill see a Western retail release date on May 28 in North America, Europe, and Australia. Available for PS4 and Nintendo Switch,Asha in Monster Worldwill retail for $39.99 and include the originalMonster World 4as part of its package. The digital copies ofWonder Boywill be available at a slightly cheaper cost of $34.99, which will also be the price of the Steam version, available on June 29.
InWonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, players will assume the role of Asha alongside her companion Pepelogoo as they must free four spirits trapped by evil forces. Though thestory fromMonster Boy 4will remain in-tact, the full remake will feature cell-shaded 3D graphics paired with its 2D gameplay, keeping close to the original game.
Three limited editions ofWonder Boy: Asha in Monster Worldwill be available, including a Limited Edition with an exclusive color manual and reversible box art; a Collector’s Edition with aMonster Worldmap, two soundtracks, an artbook, and a Pepelogoo squish ball; and finally the Mega Collector’s Edition with everything in the Collector’s Edition plus a pin, a vinyl sticker, an Asha figurine, and more.
Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster Worldis set to release for PS4 and Switch on May 28, and for PC on June 29.
