Now, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Cretton will serve as an executive producer on the developingWonder Manseries. The project will see Crettonjoin forces withBrooklyn Nine-NineandCommunitywriter-producer Andrew Guest, who will serve as head writer on theWonder Manshow. In addition to his duties as an executive producer, Cretton could potentially direct an episode of theWonder Manseries, if not more. Production onWonder Mancould begin in 2023, though the series is said to be in the early stages of development at this time. Regardless, Cretton is still hard at work developing aShang-Chisequel for Marvel Studios.

Initially introduced as a villain in anAvengerscomic from 1964, Wonder Man was later reimagined as a hero who would eventually become a founding member of the West Coast Avengers by the ’80s. Wonder Man’s alter-ego, Simon Williams, was famous for his role as an actor and stuntman, but he eventually developed a sibling-like relationship with Vision through his ionic energy powers and brainwaves. When Vision was dismantled, Wanda Maximoff asked Wonder Man to use his powers to rebuild Vision with his original personality, but Wonder Man refused because he had developed feelings for Wanda.

Details on how Marvel Studios plans to adaptWonder Manremain unknown at this time, but his history with Wanda and Vision could be a sign that he will arrive in the MCU at just the right time. As fans recall,WandaVisionended with the original Vision being rebooted by S.W.O.R.D. agents without his original personality. While the version of Vision that Wanda created was able to give thefan-named White Visiona glimpse at his lost memories, the latter was still far from the ‘person’ Wanda fell in love with.

Of course, as far as fans know, Wonder Man has no connection to Vision that would allow him to restore White Vision’s original personality. Still, Marvel Studios hasn’t shied away from adapting comic book storylines with a new twist in the past, but fans will have to wait and see if Wonder Man can provide a happy ending for Vision and Scarlet Witch, provided the latter can make amends forher dark deeds inDoctor Strange 2.
