Along with some genuinely surprising details about her powers,Storm’s daughter introduces herself as Furaha, a Swahili word meaning joy or happiness. Eternity grants this vision to Ororo to inspire her and give her a future worth fighting for amid a bleak period for mutantkind. Storm seeing her smiling daughter certainly sparks joy, and gives her further strength to fight.

Her first appearance inX-Men: Hellfire Vigil #1is only one page long, but some fascinating details are revealed about Storm’s daughter in the brief vision of the future. Furaha has Ororo’s eyes and powers, but she also has her father’s hair, fangs, and other abilities. Though her father’s identity isn’t stated here, it’s easy to make one wild guess.
With only black hair and fangs to tease his identity, it seems pretty likely that Wolverine could be Furaha’s father. Furaha’s introduction marks an exciting addition for Storm and overall X-Men lore, but since it’s only a vision of the future, her debut can be taken as conditional for now. WhileStorm has been dealing with cosmic entitiesand Thunder Gods, Eternity hasn’t been totally trustworthy. Perhaps Eternity’s vision can’t be trusted either, but it’ll certainly ignite major fan speculation regardless.
Storm does deserve to have some more joy in her life, so hopefully her daughter can stick around and truly become a powerful part of her mother’s X-Men legacy.
