Today, Microsoft revealed the next slate of games to be included in itsXboxGames with Gold program for July 2017 for theXbox360 and Xbox One consoles. Although the titles are free to those who have Xbox Live Gold membership status, some might choose to avoid downloading them just to save hard drive space due to the offerings being somewhat underwhelming this month.
As seen below in the trailer for July 2017’s Games with Gold program, during July 1 through July 31, Xbox One owners first have the chance to acquire Ubisoft Reflections’Grow Up –the followup to the acclaimedGrow Home– which released in August of last year. Then, from July 16 to August 15, the other free game for fans of the current generation platform will be 13AM Games’Runbow, which happens to be a multiplayer platformer that initially came out in August 2015 as a Wii U exclusive.
As usual, the Xbox 360 will receive a completely different couple of titles for July, and has also been the case in previous months, these titles are playable on the Xbox One as well thanks to the system’s backward compatibility component. Starting July 1 through July 15, Xbox 360 owners can download IO Interactive’sKane and Lynch 2: Dog Days, whileLEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Gamefrom Traveller’s Tales will be available from July 16 to July 31.
While it’s difficult to criticize the deal of four free games, one can easily argue that theGames with Gold lineup for Juneprovided Xbox fans with a much more satisfying set of titles. As a matter of fact, those who haven’t downloaded them yet still have time to obtain three out of four of June’s offerings, with the side-scrolling multiplayer title from DoubleDutch GamesSpeedRunnerand Ubisoft’s open world action gameWatch Dogsbeing available for Xbox One, andDragon Age: Originsbeing available for Xbox 360.
Xbox’s Games with Gold for July 2017 will be available starting on August 02, 2025.
